random thoughts concerning music

Yesterday I defragmentated my computer's harddisk. I had to de-install a lot of programmes from C:/ to have enough free disk space for the process. It was long overdue. A lot of red....
Well, on D:/ I deleted files, too - A lot of which (music) I don't listen to/like anymore. While deleting I re-found songs I still love. A lot of 60's music... I love these. Very.

If I can choose a decade of the last century to be in my end-teenyears, I'd choose the 60's. I'd be a postwar-child then. Not the best time to be born or live, but that kind of music was great and brandnew. Music that makes me wanna dance and jump around and sing. Happy music even though they were of short length (about 2 min 40-ish secs) and primarily just consisted of refrain(s). Still great music... especially The Drifters... The Monkees... The Lovin' Spoonful... aw, nearly every band/artist.

Beside this, I re-found instrumental music of which I get creeps... so emotionally beautiful... beautifully emotional. Well, well ... it's these: BGC - Stroll Through Chinatown, The Ending Song from Escaflowne (when Hitomi leaves and disappears into the sky and back to her world), Inuyasha - Affections Touching Across Time II (by WADA Kaoru).

One of my favourites that have a slighter effect on me.... there're vocals... are from Chikyuu Shojo Arujuna - Early Bird and from Escaflowne 2nd Movie - Sora (both by KANNO Yoko). I love her works... music and this fantasy language she creates... sounding like a mix of Latin, English and Japanese to me.

Atm, I'm a lot into Sam Phillips, SHE and her music is the reason that Gg is what it is... if there wasn't her music in it... it'd be a lot poorer. When I listen to "Reflecting Light" I always see Luke dancing with Lorelai for the first time... which marks the beginning of their no-more-friends-but-lovers-relationship. While this song is playing I can't fully focus on learning stuff or what I do... I see the scene and the smiles of both. So pretty and hopelessly - some might say awfully - romantic. Aww. *^o^* And I just wish it'd be like back then. Advice: never get into stuff, esp. TV shows, too much. Fandom is like after being bitten by a radioactive spider... gift and curse... or so. (Forgive me, it's late.)

Speaking of which... the Opening song from Gg is sung by Carole King.... I sometimes wondered from where I knew her voice... I got "new"(old) music... and discovered a song I already knew and like... "It's Too Late" ... guess who's voive I heard...? Yeah, hers. I wanna have more of her music. Guess I'd like it and know some more already.

No, I'm NOT on drugs. If anyone's wondering......
