I had a tonne of fun and we pulled off the play and the band was a-okay and we had a good turn-out and enough door gifts! I feel so gratified, like I put my trust in God and he didn't disappoint. I gotta admit I had some doubts.
But anyway. The skit/play (I feel weird calling it a skit cos it's nearly half an hour long) was truly amazing. We only started rehearsal last week and I was at dance camp all that time anyway, so I only did one rehearsal with the cast. We had exactly ONE rehearsal an hour before the actual performance, and that was the ONLY rehearsal with props and a set. We only started getting stuff for the set then.
I was worried about finding a screen for a backstage, but God provided.
I miscommunicated with Jon about the bucket, but God provided!
In fact I neglected to seriously look for props and things. But God provided. Like things just fell into place and we found what we needed lying around.
Giving credit where it's due, my wonderful cast spent two days together!! Not exactly rehearsing non-stop, but Shannon said they did it for at least 2 hours a day. ^^"
And Jon did a great job with the sparkly television set.
And obviously what is the most wonderful of all is that even though we were hardly prepared, God pulled it off for us.
Plus I foisted off the little speech at the end on Yihui. And she was really good.
The door gifts! That was touch-and-go. We only had one roll of white ribbon - according to my mom the last roll in the shop. That was enough for 40, but when we went to the market again we found two more rolls and it was enough for exactly 80, our target.
We bought 4 packs of chocolate but it was an assorted pack. So we weren't sure if we would have enough of the colours we needed, but we did after all.
Lots of the Oreos were broken, but we had enough!
Raj always says that the most important thing in life is the connections you make with people, not what you have or can do.
Well if that's the case then tonight's party was a success for me.
