I just got a call from KCLS. I made it past the interview and will now be able to take the skills assessment. They happened to have someone cancel, so I will be able to take it next week--other wise it would have been some time in September.
The skills assessment consists of a Customer contact (customer service skills), a reference and reader's advisory, a 5 minute children's story time and a teen book talk. I feel very confident in the customer service skills and somewhat in everything else. The reference and reader's advisory section gives me a little pause, as I have never been given the time to actually pursue a patron's question to the fullest.
I did find a guy a schematic for the timeing marks on an 86 Dodge the other day, with fairly little trouble.
Oh yeah, I think that when I finish with the skills assessment, assuming I pass, I will then get into their hiring pool. Whoopeee!! More resumes and cover letters. I feel like I have run out of vocabulary with which to describe myself.
