So far, this week is shaping up to be a great one. I had a great time in SD yesterday and today. Last night, we went out in Pacific Beach. It was pretty dead, but I had fun anyway. I went out with Kristie and Laura, who I met (IRL) yesterday. First, we went to Islands in La Jolla. It's a burger joint, a pretty decent one. Next, we stopped by John's (ShreddinPB) house in Pacific Beach. He had no idea who I was, and I'm pretty sure that he still doesn't know. He was otherwise occupied, so I'm not sure that meeting some dude was high on the list of things on his mind. Next, we went to the Longboard Grill so Kristie could see if some guy was there. He wasn't. We decided to leave after we got bored with some guy singing covers and playing guitar. Next, we went to "The Tavern," it started off empty, but eventually, a crowd formed... However, we decided to try to venture on to other places, just because. First, we stopped at the Typhoon Saloon, which is normally pretty packed, unless, of course, I decide to go there. Twice I've been there, and twice it was empty at the time. We tried two more bars (PB Bar and Grill and Moondoggies), but Kristie has an expired driver's license, so we couldn't get in to either of those places. Then, we decided to go back to the Tavern. Kristie danced with a flamboyant guy named Joe. After a while, we decided to head back to the apartment. Eventually, we all passed out and then woke up late and had chinese food. I drove back in fairly uneventful fashion (there was traffic, but, it's So. Cal). I had a great time on my SD expedition, hopefully it will be repeated soon!
Tonight, I went to play poker again. I won $116 this time, so I guess I must be improving.
