home at last--part 1

So at last I am home from my 2 week long trip to Spain and Portugal. It was one of the most amazing experiences. This is probably for several reasons, mostly because I've never been to Europe before and because I went with 46 other kids from my school. We went to Lisbon and Porto in Portugal, and Bilbao, Burgos, San Sebastian, Barcelona, and Palma de Mallorca in Spain. Each city was absolutely incredible. We saw incredible places during the day, and had so much fun going out at night. Lisbon was great and the buildings in the city were so great and the shopping there was awesome. One night we ate on on the river in this area where a bunch of riverfront bars and clubs were and we had an awesome time. That night I met one of the several overaged foreign guys I met on the trip. Porto was our next stop and it was great because the day we arrived was the first day of the Euro Cup, which Portugal was hosting. So the streets were filled with with people all decked out in Portugese colors and the excitement was everywhere. Unfortunately we had to stay in a hotel a little ways outside of the city because the chaos from the tournament, but I'm happy we got to go inside the city. We stopped in Bilbao on the way to Burgos and saw the Guggenheim. The artwork was kind of disappointing, but the actual muesuem was pretty cool. Must dash. more later.
