"He's not human." A rush of thoughts flood in at those words, Superman blinks slowly digesting the words and all the possible implications they could have...Am I not alone? Is there another survivor? His heart swells with warmth at the possibility, turning he looks up into Diana's eyes that hold just a touch of worry as they look into his own that are so filled with hope.

"I'm not saying.."

"I know, I know. Just the possibility though...what if I really am not the last?" Superman cuts her off when she tries to not let his hopes get too high. Shaking his head in attempt to fight down the desperate hope, he sighs, "It would be nice to not be alone anymore..." Blue eyes flick over to the unconscious man laying pristinely still under white cloth which adds to the man's angelic appearance. Somehow the man's dark hair is tousled just so, full pink lips pout slightly and his face scrunches up in worry.

Without thinking Superman runs his fingers soothingly through the mans hair, brushing his scalp trying to ease the troubled man's sleep. The man's stirrings calm momentarily before he scrunches his eyes closed with a look of anguish, as if even asleep he is about to cry and fighting it.

Superman's eyes fill with worry when the man seems to moan in pain whispering so faintly only Superman's ears can hear, "Jean..." Superman wraps his arms around the man's shoulders and he starts to jerk and shake. Looking down at the man's face so filled with sadness he is completely blind sighted when those eyes open.

"JEAN!!!!" He screams out opening his eyes, Superman watches on frozen by what happens. Red light escapes in slits as the eyes fly open, blinding red light blares out and even with his inhuman speed Superman only has the time to look away and pull the man's head into his chest attempting to absorb all of the immense energy. Not even the man of steel is prepared for the searing force of the energy striking him. He can feel his almost impervious suit vaporize in an instant laying his skin bare without protection to the blazing heat.

The pain of it surprises him, knocking the air from his lungs in a small cry before he is blown back by its power. The beam of red smashes him back and out of a window before it disappears. Still in shock Superman plummets down a few stories before willing himself to stop, coughing in air painfully through burnt lungs he flys back up into the private loft. He is surprised to see the man curled in on himself on the floor next to the bed covers thrown wide. White knuckled, the man holds his head, with his eyes screwed tightly shut sobbing.

"Oh god no, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Realizing that the man probably thought that he had killed him Superman floats over and drops to his knees near the man.

"Shhh...its okay I'm fine." He whispers while reaching a hand out to touch a shaking shoulder. The man jerks in surprise at the touch and the voice before reaching his hands out and frantically feeling his way up Superman's arm. His hands slide up over the blue clothed arm up his shoulder and feel along his face. Superman is frozen when the man's warm hands touch his cheeks gently...seeming to memorize him.

Its been so long since he has felt the intimate touch of another, blue eyes sliding closed, cheeks warm and a smile comes to his lips enjoying the touch. I am not alone, he cannot help but think after witnessing the man's awesome but somewhat familiar power.
A frown creases his lips when those warm hands leave, then he inhales sharply at the pain when those hands touch the burnt flesh on his abdomen before quickly disappearing again. Superman reopens his eyes and smiles gently at the other man even though the man will not open his eyes.

"It's okay, I'm already healing." Superman says softly as he grabs a hold of the man's hands and guides them to his chest. The hands flinch at touching the charred flesh, but Superman holds firm. A look of wonder comes across the man's features as the flesh beneath his fingers softens and heals and is perfect once more, he smiles slightly before falling limp only to be caught by the man in blue.
