So I should have spent the day training yesterday, but instead I didn't leave the house, except to go meet my mom at the airport. Oh well. I did manage to find a practical use for Dashboard, though: tracking my mom's flight. I went to the airline's webpage, but quickly tired of trying to figure out exactly where to input the relevant information, and then I remembered that Dashboard comes with a flight tracker widget. It worked like a charm, and reported that the flight was expected to arrive 24 minutes ahead of schedule. We figured it would take about that long for my mom to get through baggage claim and customs, so we got to the airport at a couple of minutes after the originally scheduled time, where the big arrival board also said that the flight was about 24 minutes ahead of schedule, and that it had also not landed yet. It ended up touching down about 15 minutes behind schedule. Huh.

I did get some riding done today, though. I hopped on the Intrepid, rode down to the Belt Parkway Greenway Bikeway, and headed over to Roy's to settle my bill, check if my computer and connex link came in, and pick up a pair of tights. While I was there, I got a chance to look at the Calfee bamboo frame. Hehehe. Then I headed up to work, and of course after work I went home. So about 18 miles from home to Roy's, 12 miles from Roy's to work, and 13 miles from work to home. Not quite as much riding as I'd like to be doing, given how little time there is before our suicide attempt, but it's something, I guess.
Got a package from work from some dude in the Ukraine. I bought an old Soviet-era pocket calculator from eBay. Yes, "pocket calculator" here is a euphemism for you-know-what. Well, I guess it isn't really a euphemism, since it is exactly that. The package was stuffed with Russian newspaper. I was worried that it was going to be Ukranian, but it was Russian. Well, I suppose Ukranian would have been interesting.
