Squishyfied ♥ Round Two!

Oct 10, 2016 10:57

Welcome, one and all, to the second round of Squishyfied, a fan fiction event centered around Kim Minseok and Do Kyungsoo of EXO.

For our first round we did an exchange, but this time you voted for a fest so we're going to change things up a bit.

What is a "fest" and how is it different than an exchange?

A fic fest is an event where anyone can send in prompts they'd like to see written for the pairing and then writers can choose which prompt they'd like to write. It's different than an exchange because here you get to choose whichever prompts you'd like, whereas in an exchange you'd be assigned someone specific to write for.

Fests also differ from exchanges in the sense that not everyone who prompts has to write a story. In an exchange, everyone who signs up is matched with someone else and they all end up writing stories for each other. With a fest, anyone can prompt and those who want to write can choose their prompts.

We hope that many of you will send in prompts, and lots of them, even if you don't plan on writing for the fest!

Prompting is coming soon~

Rules

1. This is a fest centered around Xiumin and D.O of the boy group EXO. Therefore, all stories must feature these two as the main pairing. While you don't necessarily have to write them in a romantic relationship, they must be the main characters of the story and they must have some sort of relationship. Also, OT3s are allowed as long Xiumin and D.O remain the primary focus of the story. Oh, and, side pairings are allowed as well.

2. This exchange requires all stories to have a minimum word count of 2,500. There is no maximum word count and longer stories are, in fact, encouraged!

3. Every genre and rating is allowed in this exchange; horror to fluff, angst to comedy, platonic friendship to detailed smut, nothing is off limits! Kinks are also allowed, but only if your recipient is okay with them. If you are unsure whether something you're writing would be okay, please feel free to contact me at besquishyfied@gmail.com

4. Only claim a prompt if you can truly commit! If you decide you won't be able to write the prompt anymore or can't continue for any reason, please send me an email before January 2nd, which is our dropout deadline. If you fail to dropout by then and don't follow through with the fest, you may potentially be banned from the next round of Squishyfied.

5. One reason exchanges and fests are amazing is because of their anonymous nature. You can tell people that you're participating in this fest, but do not tell anyone which prompt you're writing. At least, not until reveals have been posted. Revealing yourself beforehand would take away from the excitement and we don't want that, do we?

6. Be aware of the schedule and make sure you meet all deadlines. There will be two check-ins before the due date for final drafts, so keep the check-in deadlines in mind as you are writing. I will post a detailed guide about what is required from you at check-ins sometime later on in the fest. For now, just know that you are required to send in 500 words at the first check-in and 1,500 at the second.

7. Plagiarism is not tolerated. Just no. Not at all.

8. If you finish your first prompt and decide you'd like to claim another one, you are more than welcome to! You can claim as many prompts as you want as long as you finish one before claiming another.

9. We are going to keep claiming open for much longer than most fests in the hopes that more writers may join us along the way. Claiming will officially close January 2nd. However, the final submission deadline will not change so if you do join late, you'll have less time to write. Please keep this in mind!

The prompting post will be up soon!

We can't wait to see what ideas everyone has for our precious squishes :)
