venice is a real place in italy.

so i went to venice with school this weekend - it was obviously ridiculous. we were only there for one night, but it was def. way cool and whatnot. as seen above, i fed the pigeons (grossest, dirtiest thing ever, duh.) and began to truly exploit the use of the "black and white" and "siena" settings on my camera. there were lots of sweet things to take pictures of in venice, aside from the typical picturesque waterways. it also poured down rain consistently for the entire first day that we were there, which made the place look completely different than it does in the sun, which was pretty cool. i also went to the lucian freud exhibit there and the peggy guggenheim collection - both of them were really sweet.

stupid train shenanigans yield ridonkulous pictures.

at the train station in venice, there's this modern art thingy that's a rainbow room of mona lisa in tiled panels digital-age style. there were yellow ones all over the city too. i had fun in here.

micah and allie on the ferry to the hotel

it rained a ton for the whole day.

this is outside san marco cathedral, which is in the main piazza in venice.

gold altarpiece at san marco - pretty much the most expensive thing in the world, ever. super tacky, but awesome.

then we went to this crazy fancy 4-course dinner where we all had an insane amount of food and wine and fun.

joey, brian and steve, there on the left and maiken on the right.

that's me being way happy and cristina making out with her dessert.

something was funny

then we went to the bar and may or may not have had too much fun.

katie and emily at the baaar

the next day, we walked around and fed the pigeons.

indiana jones: the last crusade was filmed in this church (it was supposed to be a library or something). other than that, it was a pretty boring church.

this was a weird mask store where the masks from eyes wide shut are from. it's not my favorite movie, but the store was sweet.

i didn't do the gondola ride, because it costs 100 euro and it looked more like bumper-boats. mostly japanese tourists.

venitian pizza > florentine pizza

i'm feeding (or getting attacked by?) pigeons there on the right. it was pretty disgusting, but kinda fun.

i would go back there for sure.
