...Felt like highschool, but with more white people.
Some of my classmates look like they were forced to study at Langara. I thought that college would be different in terms of the atmosphere and the attitude of the students. I figured that the students of Langara were very serious about their studies and that maybe, JUST MAYBE, it would influence me in a positive way.
I WAS WRONG.
More than 65% of the people in each of my classes were there to socialize. We were already given quizzes and notes to jot down and I was expecting that. Unfortunately, only a few students actually brought materials to class. All the gangster-wanna-be's, preppies, cheerleaders, and Paris Hilton look alikes had to beg the instructors for pen and paper. That was rather disheartening. They just kept yapping and yapping at the very back of the room. It was sick...
Biology 1115
Mr. Garyen Chong is a funny guy. I'm gonna look forward to his classes.
I usually sit at the front in any class I take, because it keeps me from falling asleep during class. I'm glad I'm at the front since Mr. Chong is hard to understand sometimes. His accent blends his words all in one. He's still awesomely funny. I mean, what kind of instructor calls quizzes "happy hour", exams "parties", and final exams "mother of all parties"?
Psychology II
Dr. Jennifer Poole seems nice. This class is going to be kind of difficult with 120+ students though...
There are several students in my class who are repeating Psyc II and are pretending to be the smartest students in the section. I couldn't help but overhear the nonstop bragging about how much one knows about the freaky world of Psyc II.
English
Mrs. Johnson is kind of freaky. She told us, "If you can't afford the 3 English books, I suggest you drop out". That wasn't very accomodating.
LOL, I'm the youngest student in my English class. I'm surrounded by 20+ year olds, plus some freaky chick who really does look like Paris Hilton. She sits near me and I feel slightly intimidated. You know that feeling when someone is shooting daggers in your direction? Yeah...

Books are fucking expensive. My mother told me to use some of her old books, BUT most of them are tattered, ripped, and filled with answers and highlights. It's very distracting... I can't learn when the answers to the practice questions on my books are floating in front of me.
