Random crap
So. Went out with people from work (RSPCA) last Sat. Only really went because someone volunteered me to drive this guy (called Ben) because he wanted to drink.
Right - well ... went to the docklands (didn't have a table booked - there was about 10 of us) but managed to find a place after about 1/2 an hour of searching. Everyone drank (except for me) including people who don't drink at all but had about 10 shots over the span of our outing.
Not sure exactly how 'i don't drink' is defined, but somehow thought that alcohol wouldn't be involved in the answer.
Obviously i'm mistaken.
Finished dinner and discovered to my slight horror that i was expected to drive into Lonsdale st. Found a park on Swanston st (go me - my passengers were too drunk to notice my nervousness thank god) and then went to a place called Retroclub.
Had to empty my bottle of water *dreary sigh* managed to get one of the girls i work with a free drink off of another guy (go me) so slightly impressed some people.
Was only wearing thongs - so had hoped i would be turned away, alas - the shoe patrol was not around and i was allowed to enter.
Spent the next couple of dances sitting on a stool with another lady (who was 38 - and a non-drinker ... finally!) we spent a large portion of the night shouting each other waters until the guy i drove was happy to go home (surprisingly earlier then i expected!)
We left the club. Couldn't hear a bloody thing (my ears have never felt that numb before) but managed to make it home by 1:30am.
Altogether - not my cup of tea, but i prevailed *shakes fist*
The guy i drove is alright - i was just annoyed that they didn't actually ask me to go with them, just to drive the guy there and back.
Anyway.
Over and done with. May they never have another outing again *nods*
