Yesterday was the best way summer could have ended.
It was my last day of interning for Frank, and I ended up on a hotel driveway holding reflectors up as we had models dip into the fountains without permission. One of the models was this beautiful Brazilian girl named Naiumi, and the wedding dresses she modeled looked extra fantastic as she found expressions I never knew existed. Upstairs at the suite Metro Weddings had crashed, we talked about food, her life as a model, and about the family she wanted. We're doing a little shoot before she returns to Brazil in three months or so.
It was a bit strange, saying goodbye to Frank and his assistant Nelson; I had been interning for just over a month, but it felt familiar and right already. There are the people I met and friends I made, (and connections I flirted my way into) but it's just the thrill of new things everyday, thinking on your toes, pulling good light out of nowhere. I liked that. Now it's over, but it's been the absolute best thing that's happened in as long as I can remember.
After the shoot wrapped, I headed to the Rogue offices with James G- the reason I have a burgeoning career- and Anna C- a visual peg for cheekbones who can drive- and found out that Rogue wanted more of my work. I might be shooting the entire gallery features section for August. I don't want to jinx that, so this will be it for now.
And other things, but mostly Frank and Rogue and me beginning to wonder what else will somehow happen.
Happiness!
