Fun fact: Barry didn't even write "I Write the Songs".

Lest you think that my weekend was ALL bad...I had some good quality hang time with people after the horrible car incident. On Friday evening, Carrie took me to dinner at Eastern Standard, since in my traumatized state I clearly needed steak and a cocktail. Saturday was shoe shopping and lunch at Fajitas and Ritas with Liz (during which I think I actually found orthotic-friendly summer shoes for work, but we'll see if my PT approves). And on Saturday night, I had dinner at The Lower Depths ($1 Fenway Franks!) and then went to see the Boston Gay Men's Chrous with Laura, Shawn, and Tim. The theme of their concert was "You Gotta Have Friends- The Songs of Bette Midler and Barry Manilow". It was an awesome show-but I did realize the next day that they didn't sing "I Write the Songs". This was, in my opinion, a huge omission.

And here is what happened when I told Tom about the concert:

Tom: So, how was the concert?
Me: Awesome, they were so cute. And there was dancing.
Tom: Now, what does Barry Manilow sing again?
Me: Um, hello? "I Write the Songs"?
Tom: He writes the songs? What?
Me: And "Mandy"?
Tom: Oh, wait, you mean (and here he begins singing) "Brandy, you're a fine girl, what a good wife you would be..."
Me: No, that's BRANDY. His song is called MANDY.
Tom: But you got to hear me sing, wasn't that worth it?

out and about, hi-larious, tunes, beantown, ted, pals
