Dear College Students,

Just because I am a "grown-up" doesn't mean I'm married. "Mrs. Grampetro" is my mother. Also, it hasn't been appropriate to address anyone as "Mrs." right off the bat in about, oh, fifteen years.

The students at Tech used to "Yes ma'am" me a lot, and I told them they really didn't need to. It's a southern thing.
