UPS Fails Twice in One Day (and then again the next day)

Jul 02, 2010 13:10

Yesterday at work I had a conversation with a customer service person at UPS, to try and determine why they seemed unable to deliver a package to my office.

UPS: Is the building clearly marked? Perhaps the driver couldn't tell which one was #24.
Me: There is a big flag hanging on the outside of the building that says the name of the college and "24 the Fenway" on it.
UPS: Did your business move recently?
Me: We've been located on the Fenway for 143 years.
UPS: Is the Fenway the real name of the street? That's a real street?
Me: Yes. (Thinking hey, actually maybe it's not real! Maybe I'm not really here either!)

I was happy when we finally seemed to reach a place where they understood where to bring the package. But I was none too pleased when I got home and found this: http://twitpic.com/21m1ns.

So, even though I left a signed notice saying it was OK to leave my personal package on the front stoop, they...left another notice. Wanna know why? Because the driver used his "discretion" to decide that it wasn't a "safe" area to leave a package.

I wonder if he feels that way in Beacon Hill.

So, after several completely irritating and worthless phone calls to customer service at UPS, here I sit waiting for him. Because guess what? if I'm not here to receive it today, IT GETS SENT BACK.

And to add to the fun, my phone has died. Can't go get a new one until UPS guy gets here. I seriously want to scream.

wtf, ups sucks, fail
