I can't believe it's a real fish!
Yesterday was the party for Olivia's ninth birthday. Apart from not being able to believe she's nine, I had a great time as usual. She did too- the kid made out like a bandit, and she was super sweet and excited about seeing everyone and all of her gifts. The big hit was a siamese fighting fish from Bret, which held Josh's interest even longer than the birthday girl's.
"I think he's thinking about his new tank. (moves tank next to the fish's little cup) Look, that's where you're gonna live!"
Later, when I asked Olivia if she liked all her presents, she said, "Yeah. Especially all the books. I love to read."
I love those kids so freaking much.
Things have been so crazy busy I have been doing some serious LJ neglect. There are hopefully some good things on the horizon that I can thrill my three readers with. In the meantime, I'm heading to Burlington to "conference" for a few days this week, then GUSTER! (Which is exciting enough for all caps, for real.) So maybe, just maybe, there will be some more action 'round these parts soon. I just need to find the energy...
