Boredom Begets Silly Shuffle Stuff

Yes, I'm still awake. Tiff and I spent today making a storage run (we managed to do all our loading and unloading in the dark, also, since the lights in our section were out and the promised help never arrived...oh well) and picking up supplies for the party we're having next Friday. Tiff is more than a little excited about the decorating scheme she has in mind, and I think our place is going to look pretty awesome for the occasion. I'm a little afraid to let her anywhere near my Uncle Paul at Christmas, because if they start talking about centerpieces or something it's all over.

By the third store my neck was suddenly just...AWFUL. It had been steadily getting better all week, and then all of a sudden, BAM, it hurt just to exist. Tiff picked up a heating pad for me while I sat in the car during the end of our run, and when we got home I took half a muscle relaxer, applied some heat, and promptly passed out at about 7:30. That was fine until I woke up two hours later and was still in pain. Ugh. So now I'm wide awake, feeling slightly less pained, and trying to maintain the position I'm in because it doesn't hurt. Score.

I've been listening to a whole bunch of random stuff while I sit/lie/recline here, and it has inspired me to create another shuffle guessing game list. I'm hoping that my recent slight increase in readership (ahem, cough cough Shaffer cough cough Colin) will net me some more guesses. I like seeing how people do at these...I consider myself pretty good at them, but I've been stumped many times in the past.

So...here are the first lines from ten songs. Give me title and artist in the comments, please! And no googling, you dirty cheaters.

1. It takes a backwash man to sing a backwash song

2. The lights go out and I can't be saved

3. I've been sitting up waiting for my sugar to show

4. Listen boy, I don't want to see you let a good thing slip away

5. It's you and me, moving at the speed of light into eternity

6. Well, you done done me and you bet I felt it

7. Oh, where have you been, my blue-eyed son?

8. So your brother's bound and gagged, and they've chained him to a chair

9. I remember the thirty-five sweet goodbyes

10. Standing in line marking time, waiting for the welfare dime

ouch, tlc, tunes
