After The Mission
Characters/Pairing: Cameron Mitchell and Vala Mal Doran
Show: SG1
Setting: S10 e7 Counterstrike. It is set just after they have returned from their mission. Vala and Cam were seperated for most of the time and he wasn't even sure if she was dead or alive until they were beamed back aboard the Odyssey. This is a missing scene that takes place on the Odyssey...just after they beam back from their mission.

Once everything has calmed down the team leaves the bridge and everyone heads to their own quarters for the night. Cam follows her and is careful to ensure no one sees him. He rushes up behind and grabs her hand to spin her around…he makes eye contact…. flashing a surprised look at her as he presses a single finger to her mouth signaling her silence. He pulls her into an isolated corridor…and allows his eyes to bleed into hers… he could see pure fear and terror pinned there….trying desperately to escape….needing release…he knew she would need comforting after that emotional mission….that is why he had to take the chance….and go to her...heaven forbid Daniel would never….. he backs her into the bulkhead and leans into her…his mouth covers hers…hard and desperate….and it’s passionate….intense and delicious…his tongue skates along the inside of her… working her mouth feverishly…..tonguing her mercilessly. He’s breathless and maddened with desire….he can’t think…he certainly isn’t rational at this moment…..and he can’t take it any longer….he can hardly speak but he manages out, “God I was going crazy …I needed to see you….touch you…and be sure you’re ok”….he pulls her hard into his body for a bear hug that is so tight….it forces out a quiet growl.
She now relieved and comforted….pushes back and puts up the familiar distant and icy cold wall….she laments, “Cam….what are you doing??…..I thought you didn’t want to do this here?” She attempts escape…to run like she is so good at…but he holds her there…pulls her back and pushes her forcefully into the wall….he leans over her as if to cage her there…he moves close into her space…his face hovering so close to hers….almost brushing against it…he can…smell her….breathe her in….delights in taking up the same space as her…..he is hot and sweaty and still has the smells of battle and blood and gun fire on him….his rough….dirty calloused hand moves up to brush her hair away from her face and cups it gently…. “Meet me in my quarters then…..I need to see you….be with you….”
She looks away…..and is saddened….seemingly depressed and melancholy….”Cam….I can’t…..we can’t right now….”
Desperately seeking….”Why?? Is it Daniel again….?? Come on Vala we’ve been through this so many times….”
“No…..it’s Tomin….he’s alive!!” She turns to face him and looks him square in the eye….a tear wells up and dances down her face….she throws her arms around his neck and pulls him into her for a hug…. “I’m sorry…I just don’t know what to do” she sobs quietly on his shoulder…she needed to get that out….to release that burden to him.
Cam blanches white….his bottom lip quivers….he feels an immediate wave of nausea sear through his gut….he breaths out and it hitches a little….as he whispers in her ear…”I’ll kill him….Vala…you know…I will….he has no claim to you….unless you let him…he is Ori…you can’t possibly think you still have some sort of a commitment to him do you??” He waits anxiously for her response….
She pulls away violently….”we can’t talk about this here….someone will see us…..will hear us…..I’ll call you and we can meet up….at some point….but it won’t be for a few days….I’ve got business with Daniel…..”
Now angered….He pulls on her arm until she is back into his space again….his face close to hers…Now that Daniel has come up….he notices his faint smell on her…..lately it seems he always smells him on her…and it’s maddening….his sickening cologne…his books…the mints he eats….all of it….is on her…and it drives him crazy. “What the hell Vala…what business do you have with Daniel now??” His eyes flood a dark steely gray and seem to pierce right through her….he demands an answer so he waits….
“Well Adria did a number on him…she apparently put him under some kind of love spell…so I have to snap him out of it….he asked me….so I agreed to go on a date with him….” She smirks just a little…because in some sick way she knows this will drive Cam crazy….but it’s a turn on for her…she just loves to mess with him….and watch him get this way….
Furious…..“A Date?? A Date?? Vala?? What the hell are you doin?? I can barely stand seeing you guys on missions together…now you want to date?? This is unbefrakinlievable…..I can’t take this sh!t Vala…..What the hell!!??” He turns his back to her and happens to notice out of the corner of his eye…someone walking toward them….he tries to play it cool….but his blood is boiling….he nervously runs his fingers through his moistened hair and his eyes dart to the floor as he avoids achieving eye contact with the sergeant that passes by….as he disappears out of sight….Cam spins back around and locks eyes with her….they plead….beg her…..to come to him….to love him….he looks at her in that special way only he can do….that melts her….and he knows it….his eyes seem to flood with water….as a lump rises up in his throat….he blinks to allow the tear to break free….but he immediately swipes it away and sniffs…..and bellows quietly…”whatever Vala….I see you’ve finally made your choice….I guess we’re over…..” He turns to leave…but he wants so much to stay…..he desperately wants her to be his….all his….but he sees the impossibility of that…..so he begins his retreat…..she stops him…..she grabs his hand….and squeezes it….he stops dead in his tracks and without turning he slides his eyes closed and breathes in a comforting sigh….she leans up into his ear and whispers….in the most intoxicating breath possible….
“I want you… Cameron Mitchell!!” She kisses his ear and licks him there…only the way Vala can do…leaving her wetness on him….that he will feel long after she is out of sight…she pulls back to let him go….
He stands there….motionless…unable to move…to speak….to breathe…..”You are going to be my undoing…you know that Vala Mal Doran?? I crash and burn everyday because of you….”
She giggles and has to touch him…because she knows that is what he can never resist….he loses all reason when she touches him….so she walks up behind him and slips her arms around him. She squeezes him against the front of her as she whispers back, “and I love you for it!”
She continues. “Don’t worry Cam…it’s not really a date…we’re just gonna hang out……and have dinner that’s all it’s perfectly innocent…he won’t do anything Cam….I think he’s incapable….”
“He’s a guy….believe me…he’s not incapable….” He swings around to look at her once more….
“I know….but nothing will happen if I don’t want it to….and I don’t….” attempting reassurance…
“Whatever…. Vala….you’re going to do what you want to do that’s for sure and I can’t stop you….I stopped trying that long ago…..so I’ll have to trust you……can I do that??” He searches her for a thread of something comforting to hold on to….anything….
“Yes…you can….always!!” She flashes him a smile and turns to leave…. and as she’s walking she swings back around to yell, “I’ll call you Colonel”….and then she sees him watching her…and he’s smiling….because she knows he loves to watch her….and she takes delight in that….
And as he stands and watches her….walk away…he realizes that is a recurring theme with them….him watching her walk away….but he knows she always comes back to him….with a renewed passion for him and it always feels good……and he takes comfort in that!
