I'm back(?)

Well, I've had another recent urge to post stuff in livejournal again. I guess this due in large part to the fact that my car is very quiet without a stereo, and so I get plenty of thinking time now, and I consequently want to share my random musings. Odds are I'll be to lazy to do anything like that, but one never knows with me.

For now, though, we'll kick this off as a regular update. Life is much as it was last time I updated (a year ago or so? it's been a while...). I still work at RR Fri-Sat-Sun. I still work at messenger Mon-Wed-Fri. I still go to HFCC Tue-Thu. I still tape city council meetings Wed. I still bowl on Monday nights (although my average has gone down substantially this year). Although I haven't declared anything, I'm gearing toward a degree in computer science (Personally, I'd like to get into programming/video game design-type stuff.)

Next year, I will probably transfer to another college, as Henry Ford has really pissed me off, but that's not a change at this point in time. See, a few weeks ago I incurred a $10 library fine for accidentally going over the 2-hour limit on the computers in the library (I was working on some homework). I got the notice the following Monday, but I didn't have the money to spare at the time, so I put it off until the following week. So when I was up at school the following Tuesday, I took care of it, and much to my surprise, they waived the fee since it was a first-time thing. So I'm thinking I'm cool, but I get home, and I've gotten a letter saying that I've been dropped from all my classes. I can't believe this, but I check my schedule on WebAdvisor, and wouldn't you know it? I had indeed been dropped from all my classes. So next time I had some free time, I went to the registrar's office to re-add the classes. Simple process, just have to get the professors' signatures to pick it back up, but I decided just in case to check my account status to see if it was the $10 fine that had screwed me. Much to my surprise, I owed about $300, so I went to the cashier's desk to see what was up. Turns out that by getting dropped from all my classes, I lost my financial aid for not meeting the Student Aid Requirements (SARs). The $300 was the bit of my financial aid that paid for my books. So now I'm royally boned. I've filed the paperwork to have my financial aid reinstated, but I have to wait for it to go before a board, and there's a very good chance that I'm not going to be able to get it back in time to end the semester, so there's a good chance that the last few months were completely wasted. I wasn't exactly doing great in those classes to begin with, but I still had a chance at passing. I'm still going to class, just in case, but I've already kinda written off this semester. Hopefully, I'll at least be able to get it back for next semester, which is likely to be my last semester at Henry Ford.

Also, for those who aren't already aware, I've been moved to the basement (gotta love the nerd stereotype B) ) But I'm loving it. There's a lot more room to work with, plus how many people can say they have a pool table and a ping pong table in in their room? My grandma is doing pretty well for the most part, though her status is steadily declining. Keep her in your prayers...

I've recently purchased and assembled my new computer. I think I officially brought it to life November 9, 2007. Thus far there haven't been any problems with it, which is something that I'm quite proud of. It makes me happy. :)

It was a rough summer for Nicole and myself, but now we've ironed things out a bit, and I'm very happy that we have. She's a real sweetheart and I love her. :)

I think that's all for now. I may or may not start posting on a regular basis; we'll see.
