Oh, WTF?!?

So I wake up this morning to an email from Bank of America telling me that there's been suspicious activity on my credit card and I need to sign in online or call this number to verify my recent purchases.

Lame.

Okay, so I sign in...I'm much more of an online person than a phone person, if possible...and go through pages of question-answering rigamarole, only to be told at the end that they can't verify this account online and I HAVE to call.

Double lame!

So I call the number and go through some more questions with the girl who answers. She starts listing off recent transactions...the restaurant we ate at on Friday. Yes. The jacket I bought at Limited yesterday. Yes. A temporary $1 charge at Napster. Uh, NO. $28 at c28.com...which, when I looked it up, turned out to be an online shop selling Christian-themed teeshirts, etc. Uh, FUCK NO.

Fuck. Someone has my card number and they're using it to buy legal mp3s and Jesus shirts!!!!

Oh, the irony...someone using a STOLEN card to buy CHRISTIAN goods. If it weren't so fucking inconvenient to me, I'd find it very very funny and sad.

So the lady on the phone had to close my card account and issue a new one, which should arrive tomorrow. Blah.

people are dumb
