Well, it's official. I've been officially asked to be the company photographer for
Appetite Theatre in Chicago. I went to a meeting last week and took some shots and chatted and met everyone and they met me, and I guess they all liked me enough to make it official!
A very good friend of mine....currently my oldest friend, I suppose, since we've known each other for 8 years now and are still friends, ha...is a founding member of the company. Very sweet, fun, goofy, creative gal...and she thought I'd be a great addition. Which is flattering, to say the least.
I guess you should probably start expecting me to post announcements related to the company here, too...fundraising events, performances of plays, etc. But I'll try to keep the spamming to a minimum, lol.
But also, now, I guess I have to officially start calling myself a photographer. Despite the fact that I've been taking photos compulsively for a couple of years now, have sold a couple of prints, have watched my skills improve, etc.....whenever a stranger sees me with my camera and asks if I'm a photographer, I never seem to feel as though I should say "Yes." I don't know why that is. Lack of confidence? Lack of professional experience? I dunno. But now....I have to learn to smile and say that "Yes, yes I am a photographer. Here's my card!"
