Saw the Against Me!/Alkaline Trio show in Chicago last tuesday.
First of all: fuck Chicago, because they haven't seen a band rock as hard as Against Me! did (fortyfive minutes straight rock, no stops or bullshit stage banter at ALL) in fucking years. And they just stood there. So disappointed in my state. Maybe it was because they were openers. Too many little girls. So pissed but so happy. You guys have to see them, they will seriously change your life. Before i saw them live I wore matching socks all the time, now I don't care anymore. That's how serious this is. I don't know what i'm talking about. Sorry. They're really good live, that's what i'm trying to babble.
Second of all: I love Chicago. It is the only place to see Alkaline Trio. Especially when Trio is playing nothing but old shit when they were drunks not satan. They played Goddamit straight through. Unreal. I've never heard Cringe live. They played all kinds of shit that I forgot about from comps and they each did some accoustic stuff. Matt Skiba was wearing a gay Judas Priest hat. Cause he's bald now. That's fuckin funny.
What else? Uhhhmmmm....nuthing. I had to talk my roomates out of moving into this house behind us. They were enticed by things like carpet, ceiling fans, and central air. For $1100 a month. We pay $650 a month here. For anyone out there who's been to my house is that not fucked? Yeah, this is a piece of shit house, but for $650? We're lucky the roof isn't caving in or that there's hobos pooping in the corner of our basement. So i think my naysaying swayed them. Plus the dude said we couldn't have a dog or smoke. Fuck that with a donkey stick. I'll pay my sixfifty and smoke my brains dry and wipe up Molly piss.
Pat and I are toying with having a weekly movie night, swiping your monster movies thing. Only we want to watch nothing but straight-to-video/cable action movies. Any takers?
