Given what you know, is there anything you want to do before the next murder?

Will post the next murder within the next 24 hours or Kristen will tickle attack me until I do.

Open a betting pool in vampire circles on the next victim.
(vamps can bet on an individual, or on certain characteristics (tradition, age, location, etc) singly or as a unit. Returns based on the odds of their combination choosen.

I am running book, so I make a profit regaurdless of outcome.

That's...actually very appropriate, in a black humor sort of way.

I find Vampire is all about black humor.

Can Mages be part of this betting pool? My character would totally love to be a part of it...but then again, my character is a bit odd. =)

I don't think he would mention it to the mages, afterall they might not appriciate it, it wouldn't be politic.

I would like to place a modest bet that it will not be a dreamspeaker. If Nick is willing to wait a little, I will spend a little time looking over the evidence this evening, come up with a set of characteristics for a dreamspeaker I would like to guard, and then break into their dwelling and watch over them through the night tonight. In fact, I would like to specify a bit more tightly and bet that any mage murdered in a manner similar to those already killed will not share whatever characteristics I come up with. What are my odds, Erich?

my-my-my

Well, the odds of it not being dreamspeaker, lets see there are 9 traditions, but dreamers are the favored so 5:1 odds (bet five bucks get 6 back if you win).

If Specify not dreamspeaker AND not X and not Y AND not Z, would definately up the odds. depends on how many mages you eliminate in your criteria.

Also, if a participant or associate of any participant causes such a murder to happen (copy cat...) their bets are null and void and collected by the house.

If no such murder happens all negative bets are payed back at 50%
(Except for the longshot bet of no such murder)

(I think I reverse the standard odds notation in my last post correcting here)
Let me clarify - murders by participants in the pool are ignored, and the participants who manufactured a muder for them to win are disqualified, dirty pool.

In the event that no murder occurs all inclusive bets (it will be a dreamspeaker etc) are wrong but do get a payout of 50% of bet) (only lose half your money).
All negative bets (it will NOT be a dreamspeaker, etc) get a return of one half odds (bet + 1/2 of winnings)
Longshot bet 10:1 that their will not be a murder wins.

so say you make a $5 at 1:5 bet that it will be X, and:
It is: get $6 back
isn't: lose everythinh
no murder: get $2.5 back

so say you make a $5 at 1:5 bet that it will NOT be X, and:
It is: lose everything
isn't: get $6 back
no murder: get $5.5 back

s'right?

I will find the nearest Dreamspeaker who is a pisces, and I am betting that it is not the specific person who I am guarding. If I have much of a choice, I try to pick one who lives in an older house. If there's one with any reported ghost or similar associations, that's even better. I bet $1000 that it is not the specific person I am guarding (i.e. very low payout).

Really, I'm just making sure I win something tonight.

By ghost associations, I am referring to the house having had ghost sightings.
