July 15th
Highlights: uhh...the market?
We went on a walking tour of Split, mostly the castle. It was pretty boring. We also saw a market, and started on the way to Dubrovnik.
July 16th
Highlights: leaving the tour, the British tv show
A lot of Dubrovnik was burned and replaced because of the war. The new parts are white, because there is a special stone they use from a special island, so it's the same stone but new. We went on yet another tour with a local guide, and it was so boring I went with two other women and we went off on our own (I asked my grandpa first). While the others had what we later learned was one of the worst of the tours, we explored the entire city on our own. It was lovely, and we had 4 hours instead of 2.5. We saw these awesome street performers, and they were great. Each of us bought a cd, and no one who was on the tour got one because they were gone by the time the tour ended.Since we had the afternoon off, I watched a british show where they blew stuff up. It was awesome. I wish they had it in America.
