It's only been 3 days?
generally speaking i update once or twice a week... but rarely do i update within 2-3 days... but so much has happened these last few days that i can't not update.. and i don't wanna forget any of it either... needless to say... it's way to hard to pick highlights.. so i'll just be summarizing
so... shortly after updating late thurs/early fri i decide to go sleep... it's around that time that my roomies decide to go to a get together/choir after party at one of the guy's apartments on campus... they have class that morning and some assignments to do... so i figure they'll just go over for a little bit and socialize and drink a little... well.. they come back at 6 AM still pretty drunk and seeing that i'm asleep decide to go to the lounge to talk some more with the friend they had with them... o they come back about an hour later to finish up the things they need to do.. i think they might've put in will and grace or friends... i was half asleep... so i remember they were talking quite loudly... but a lot of the specifics escape me... anyways... they eventually leave to go have breakfast prolly 8ish and then to their classes and such that they had to do... they get to sleep at around 10:30ish that morning
anyways... i slept in since i'm lucky enough to not have classes on fridays... showered.. ate lunch where i see Sean.. so i got eat w/ him.. hear that he's going to dland w/ some other people... so i tag along... and it was tons of fun as always... california screamin' is officially my fav ride... lol... and it's usually not uncommon to run into or see another chapman student there... but i swear every1 from chapman was there on fri!! i saw some people from my floor and some other delts lol... i also got a woody doll and a cool shot glass... so we head back at around 9ish... i was planning to meet up w/ Brent who was at dland w/ us to go watch PotC 2 on Memorial Lawn though it started at 8ish... somehow we missed the connection and didn't meet up... but i see Sean again! lol... so we go to his neighbor's room (who we went to dland w/) and play some old school MarioKart... i sucked... lol... but they leave for a party.. so sean and I are in their room.. he falls asleep... and i leave bout midnight... go on the computer for awhile and as i start to go to sleep at 2 AM... my drunk roomies return... and they put in Will and Grace
i wake up at 6:45 shower and go over to start seting up for the MUy Bueno Flapjack Fiesta... it was so much fun!!! i spent most of the morning in front of the griddle making pancakes... our chocolate chip pancakes were a hit.. the other guys also started experimenting with candy pancakes... so we had runt, nerd, and bottle cap pancakes as well... though only the nerd pancakes proved to be quite tasty... i love being a Delt!!!
so.. i take i quick nap... get some stuff together... take a trip to Chipotle with some other guys... and then we leave for our retreat shortly after 3 to the house of one of the brothers who is our pledge educator near San Diego... we mostly just hung out... we played some pool... i suck.. lol.. and the other Jonathan hit the cue ball off the table a couple times... lol.. then we gathered around the fire pit, burned our fears, some of us were just chilling out there chatting... then we decided to toss some flour in the fire... it was cool.. then we got all 20 of out there and did it and it was amazing.. the fire went so high!! lol... it was awesome
and we had our big bro ceremony and found out who our big bros were!!! only 2 of the 19 of us there guessed wrong and it was interesting to hear other people's clues... i guessed right and my big bro is Teren!!! he's a junior music ed major and an awesome guy!! we got an opportunity to get to know our big bros a little better and teren is such an amazing guy and i'm so happy that he's my big bro!!!
earlier we spent some time planning out what we thought our initiation ceremony would be like... and we did it w/ all of the actives.. it was a little awkward.. but also very neat
then we met w/ our families that were there... all of the brothers are broken up into different families named after greek gods and you join the family based on your big bro... so i'm in poseidon... we're a pretty big family.. bout 12... our colors are navy and old gold and our symbol is the trident... lol... but the point of families is mostly to keep track of lineage... especially as the chapter gets older... but it's also another little fun social thing every once in awhile... so yeah... that's some awesome stuff too
anyways.. so all of our big bros leave bout 1:30ish... at which time we watch Sorority House Masacre II... apparently it's a pledge retreat tradition... lol... it's a really crappy slasher movie that doesn't even try to be good... and has a good amount of boobie action in it... lol... it's didn't even make sense... but it was fun though i fell asleep for part of it... so i take my contacts out and come back.. all the lights are out and some1 had stolen the spot where i put my blanket and pillow... so i just grab another pillow and go on the floor... but i couldn't sleep... so i decided to search a little for my blanket and pillow... and i found that Bubba had it... and it put me at ease... but i looked back a couple minutes later to find that he had moved off the couch onto the floor... so i took his spot on the couch... so it was a fair trade... lol
then this morning we woke up... had some more pancakes... lol... and we had little pledge ed time... then we left... got back bout 12:30ish... i was still really tired.. so i took a nap.. woke up.. took a shower... went to church and it was youth mass w/ contemporary music... so it was neat... i talked w/ all of my family cuz my sis and her fiance were in sac this weekend making some plans for their big day... then i ate and have pretty much been in my room since
