Pippin vs The Watermelon

Yesterday I bought a watermelon at the store. Since I have no room in the fridge I set it on the floor next to the kitchen sink. Well this morning Pippin is sitting on the floor next to me at the computer(my computer is set up in the kitchen) staring at the sink and growling. I was wondering if he heard a mouse or something, but then he very tentatively works his way toward the melon and gives out a short bark. He was going totally buggy over the medium sized green ball of fruit sitting on the floor. He would not come with in two fee of it, kept skirting around the thing. So I sat down on the floor next to the watermelon and Pippin kept trying to figure out how to come sit in my lap but not go near the melon. Then to mess with him I rolled the melon toward him, he freaked out, growled, barked and ran. Finally, I picked him up and set him down face to face with the watermelon, he sniffed it, pawed at it a bit and backed away after a while, never taking his eyes off the melon. He is not freaking out over it anymore but is not exactly friendly with it either.

Those shifty watermelons, you gotta watch out for those things, might attack you or something.
