"These are the top 106 books most often marked as "unread" by LibraryThing’s users. As in, they sit on the shelf to make you look smart or well-rounded.
Bold the ones you've read, underline the ones you read for school, italicize the ones you started but didn't finish."

my list proves that I read too many books that other people ALSO enjoy reading )

Mm. Read six of those only.

The Silmarillion (BORING)
Life of Pi (for class, HATE HATE HATE)
Anansi Boys (gave up half way in, it SUCKS)
Dune (was okay)
Neverwhere (was okay, but it felt like it didn't have a climax)
The Hobbit (was okay)

The only book on that list I kinda want to read is 1984. Should I?

yesssss, read 1984, it's a dystopia with creepiness and it's really weird and fun. Out of the many dystopian books I had to read for school, it was the one I enjoyed most. :)

and I think you should read AMERICAN GODS and THE KITE-RUNNER because both of those made me super happy and I think they are great. :D

I don't want to read stuff by Neil Gaiman. I know everybody else think he's awesome, but so far I don't like his stuff much. Anansi Boys was the suck, Neverwhere was barely readable, and I'm pretty sure all the fun parts in Good Omens were from Pratchet and not him.

I'm not even gonna go through the effort of cutting and pasting the list, for I would only be able to underline like...4-5. Out of the entire list.

And you haven't read The Inferno? I had to read that for some advanced English class at West. It was actually one of the more interesting required readings, what with it being about hell and all. The test format = This is the punishment, what was the sin? What circle of hell was this sin in? And so on. 面白い!

woah, woah -- like, Dante's Inferno? Is that what they're talking about? Cos I've TOTALLY read that. It was awesome and gruesome and kinda weird.
