Choice....
I'm big on personal accountability. Its all about choice isn't it? We choose to stay at our jobs or seek other opportunities. We choose whether or not to pursue the relationships we are in. We choose to accept the things our family asks of us or we choose not to get involved with them. It may be that the answer is obvious to us, or that the other choices are for whatever reason unthinkable, but still its OUR choice. Most of us aren't faced with someone physically taking our bodies and forcing us to do things.
We are the ones who get involved in relationships our loved ones don't approve of, we are the ones who spend money before we make it, or live in apartments we can't afford or drive vehicles we can't afford to fill the gas tanks in. We choose to put those chips or that brownie into our mouths. We choose where and on whom we devote our time and energy. If these things don't bring us happiness, or even satisfaction with ourselves and our lives, we can start making different choices. We can't choose for someone else, if we don't like what someone is doing all we can do is accept their choices and choose to move with them or change our path.
I find I do much better when I accept that by in large the situations I find myself facing come about because of choices I made. That means I can choose to make different decisions.
