In an effort to save you all from the jumble of half-baked thoughts and emotions that is me today, I've decided to reward you for your patronage with a little something from My Big Box of Recipes.
(Keep in mind to qualify for a spot in The Box, a recipe must be truly fabulous; it's about as difficult to get into as the French Laundry.)
Hot Crab Dip
1 c. crab meat
1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
3 tbsp. milk
S&P to taste
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. horseradish
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1/2 c. shredded old cheddar cheese
1/4 c. slivered almonds
Mix the softened cream cheese with the milk, mayonnaise, salt, pepper and paprika. Blend well.
Add crab meat and fold in gently.
Place mixture in a shallow baking dish, sprinkling with cheese and almonds.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
Serve hot with variety of crackers (I also like to use dark, dense breads).
