Quest Entry: Rez
Last night was one of the stranger ones I've ever had.
It all started with an invitation to come to a camp-out hosted by the Sun Guards in North Tek. There was Minita, Jakrian, Velesti, Kentrin, and Golaro. I have the feeling that I am forgetting someone, but I'm not sure who.
Anyway, when I got to the place where the camp-out was supposed to be, the others were already there, and there was a note on on a rock next to the fire saying that the guards were going to be a little late. To pass the time, Minita was telling a story, but I wasn't really paying too much attention to it. I remember it was something about a person who got rich hunting wolves that were plaguing a town, but was eventually killed by a white wolf. Just as she was finishing the story, there was a loud screaming coming from Verdi Forest to the south. After a little searching around, we found a Sabrecat who was blood-soaked robe and scared out of his wits.
Once back at the camp, we managed to calm down the Sabrecat, and then Jakrian helped clean him up with lemonade of all things. At least it was better than being soaked in blood. Once he relaxed a little, the Sabrecat realized he was holding a pouch. Inside was a few coins, a business card for an exorcist, and an ID card for The Sandbox in North Tek. According to the ID, his name was Rez.
After recovering from the shock of whatever had just happened to him, Rez said he was hungry, but that it wasn't a normal hunger. Apparently Minita picked up on something and asked Rez to open his mouth. Everyone was immediately on edge, especially Kentrin, when we saw that Rez was a gaki. Minita then tried to "feed" Rez by cutting her wrist and offering some blood to him. Now, I don't know all that much about gaki, but what happened next defied all that I did know. Rez turned pale at the sight of the blood, and said that he would get sick if he drank it, and ate some of the pasta that Kentrin gave him.
We then went to Minita's "tent" where Rez could rest. On the outside, her house looks like a plain brown tent, but is actually a very spacious room on the inside. I think the tent on the outside is like a very large wander bag. While someone went back to North Tek to get one of the monks at the Sun Temple, we talked with Rez, and I used my ice whip to make a sort of icepack to help Rez get over the sickness he was feeling. When the monk arrived, the others pointed him to Rez and told the monk about him eating normal food over blood. The monk apparently already knew about Rez being a gaki, but said that what we were describing made it sound like Rez had suddenly STOPPED being a gaki. The monk showed a great interest in the exorcist whose card we found with Rez, and suggested we try to find them.
So we all went back to North Tek compliments of a portal made by Velesti. Minita was the first through, and runs back from wherever she was and yells at us to follow. So we all follow her to what we later learned was Rez's apartment. Inside was a disturbing scene. There was broken furniture and blood everywhere, and a human laying on the floor in a pool of blood. He was, however, still barely alive. Jakrian did what he could to stabilize him, and the healers at the Sun Temple think he is going to survive. Whether or not he will make a full recovery or not remains to be seen.
I hope he can bring some closure to this whole ordeal, or at least offer some new leads to follow.
