Walk The Dog - Weeks 11 & 12

Sounds: New punk, Nu rock, some rap

Positives: The presentation of the channel is very high energy as it should be since it's to serve the action sports community. It's got some good new punk. The celebrity talkshows on this channel (Bam Margera and Tony Hawk, even Jason Ellis to a certain extent) are the highlights of the channel

Negatives: This isn't a talk channel. Old punk is forgotten, new punk is repeated too often, nu rock selections are already heard on Octane, and they don't have hardly any rap anymore

Blastability: Medium to high, depending on if it's music or talk

Overall: Suggestions for Sirius XM: Change this channel back to Fungus with old and new punk. You COULD leave the talkshows because they still fit the attitude. Or move those shows to a talk station like Stars Too which is a male-oriented talk station

Sounds: Old-school hip hop

Positives: A genre definitely not covered on regular radio. Some classic forgotten gems on this station

Negatives: Imaging on the station needs some work. I went right from Faction to this station, and thought I hadn't changed the station for a second because it had the same high energy action sports punch when the station IDs came on.

Blastability: High

Overall: I'm still on the fence about the Siriusization of this station so I didn't post this in the Negatives, but the station's not as obscure as it used to be when it was The Rhyme. There are definitely more hits thrown in which I tended to change the station for because they're grossly overplayed

Sounds: 90s Alternative. Some grunge

Positives: It's Lucy, but with some grunge added in that Lucy never played, and it's UNCENSORED!!!

Negatives: I listened over a few days over the weekend and noticed repetition of songs I'd already heard in the same order that I heard them EXCEPT with 1-5 songs inserted in between them to mix things up a bit. There's a LOT of 90s alternative and grunge out there to prevent this kind of thing from happening

Blastability: Very High. I grew up with this stuff!

Overall: Improvements have been made on the Lucy concept with added grunge and no censorship so I'll definitely be coming by this channel more often

Sounds: Smooth jazz. Weather channel instrumentals

Positives: A dying format on terrestrial radio still alive and well on sat radio...for now :). Very good presentation with the DJ voices and station IDs matching the channel format perfectly

Negatives: There was an unbalanced amount of instrumental songs. I heard a total of one vocal track in the hour of listening I did

Blastability: Low. Not really my type of music

Overall: I miss Beyond Jazz
