Sounds: Country music hits from the 80s and 90s
Positives: Channel represents songs that are no longer heard on regular radio. They shuffled in a great mix of some classic country Christmas songs
Negatives: I believe I did notice repetition of one of the songs by Shenendoah. If not, there is a fair bit of repeat at least in the artists that they play...and then maybe I just think they sound the same after that cause I don't know much about this genre
Blastability: Low for me. Not the kinda music I want people hearing me listening to
Overall: There are certain sub-sections of my family that all they listen to is country music. I remember get-togethers in the late 80s and early 90s where all they had on the radio was WPOC, the country station here in Baltimore, and us kids HATED it. It feels strange listening to these songs on my own years later. :)
Sounds: Blues music from the 1920s to now from solo acoustic to rockin' blues
Positives: Always a deep playlist with rarities stuck on vinyl only, always DJs that know about the music and give interesting facts about the artists and where they're going to be if they're alive & touring. Was great to hear that Bill Wax made the cut!
Negatives: Knowledgeable DJs can be overly talky sometimes. The sound quality of the older recordings can sometimes be unpleasant to the ears, especially if it rubs the compression that's applied to the channel the wrong way
Blastability: Medium to High depending on the quality of the recording and how much I got the blues baby
Overall: I've been listening to this channel on and off for many years (way before it got the B.B. King brand name on it). I'm always impressed by the playlist and the things they can find (they played a REALLY old B.B. King recording that he probably was 17 on). BTW, in one of the segments I heard Bill Wax on (filling in for Pat St. John), he sounded really confused and out of place, and kept messing up a lot of his facts and leaving long pauses; anybody know what that's all about?
