Super Bowl pre-game commercial to feature Deaf employees of Pepsi

I got this in an email. Thought I would pass it on to ya'll. I am really looking forward to it...I hope it accomplishes its goal.

PepsiCo is making history this Sunday by airing a commercial that is presented solely in American Sign Language during the Super Bowl XLII Pre-Game Show. The spot was created by and features two Deaf PepsiCo employees who are members of EnAble, an employee network whose mission is to support diversity and the inclusion of persons with different abilities in the workplace. The commercial features Pepsi-Cola and Lay’s Potato Chips, but its real mission is to bring awareness of the American Deaf community to a wider audience.

Keith Wann, CI, CT, NIC-Master and facilitator of Comprehensive Network®’s current SignTalk® NIC Study Course Series has been selected to assist in this campaign. Keith, an actor, sign language interpreter and instructor is featured in several short clips on the PepsiCo website that were created as companion pieces to the commercial, “Bob’s House”, which will be aired. For more information about EnAble and to view the ads click here: http://pepsi.com/bobshouse/index.php?or=pw.474.

Comprehensive Network® wholeheartedly agrees with the National Association of Deaf (NAD)’s sentiments as conveyed by NAD President, Bobbie Beth Scoggins, “The NAD applauds PepsiCo for its strong commitment to diversity and the creation of this exciting ad in ASL with its employees. This ground-breaking ad will heighten cultural awareness by millions of viewers during Super Bowl Sunday.”

Whether you are a Giants or a Patriots fan, everyone is a winner this Super Bowl Sunday thanks to PepsiCo and EnAble. Kudos to Keith and to PepsiCo!

Comprehensive Network, Inc.'s SignTalk® Series is RID CMP/ACET approved as a Continuing Education Activities Sponsor. www.signtalk.org
