Together, we can help
There's a huge famine in West Africa - and the world seems to be ignoring it. 2.5 million people are starving to death, and the world isn't even paying attention. This makes me feel rich and guilty and overwhelmed that through some chance, I know I have enough to eat.

So, here is my proposal: I challenge each one of you to send $5 to an aid organization for West Africa. It could be Oxfam (which I've linked below), or another charity of your choosing. You can send more, or less. I know money is tight for many of you, but skip a latte or an ice cream cone this week. Help a person miles away who is starving and feeling that the world of luxury has forsaken them. Think globally, my friends.
Then, post this plea in your own journal. E-mail your friends. And comment here. It's the honor system, but let's see how big the chain of love can grow.
