Happy Holidays everyone!
Don't forget to eat some chocolate. For those of you in Montreal, I suggest "Les Chocolats de Chloe" on Roy E one shop up from the corner of St Denis.
For those of you Brissie, I suggest David Jones in the CBD on the bottom floor (they have d'Anvers fudge AND Michel Cluizel AND Valhrona, but -NOT- Death by Chocolate because it's a ripoff and the chocolate isn't flash hot for the price. Also, the staff couldn't tell me where the cacao came from. Pfff.
If you are in Adelaide, stop by "Chocolate World" in the Adelaide Arcade in Rundle Mall. They refuse to carry substandard chocolate on principle, and import their truffles. They also make a variety of rich hot cocoa beverages right on site, some of which are vegan.
If you are in Melbourne, rejoice at the fact that you can buy real croissants. Then just wander around until you find a place to eat some kick a$$ fare, chocolate-based or otherwise. I can't think of a chocolaterie there off the top of my head, but I'll get back to you on that one. The bakery on Station Street in Northcote has godlike almond croissants though, and a fish n chip shop that sells fun-sized deep fried Mars bars.
Tonight, Leigh and I take shade_42 to the Kingsford: http://www.sahotels.com.au/kingsford/index.asp to enjoy the stone grill... soon after we plan on taking him to AlPhutte for some Swiss food...
