nesting for kitties and me

Mar 15, 2009 09:33

so E and I are planning to adopt the wee 9-months-old calico kitty who's been living with her siblings in the wasteland near the gym (just north of Spring Garden between Delaware Ave and the river). We actually tried to catch her last weekend but she wouldn't be caught -- slippery little fish! She loves being petted, but apparently does not love being grasped. I'm actually kinda glad we didn't catch her b/c i realized when we got home that the house is not ready for new kitty arrival. particularly my room, which will be her only room for at least a few days while Ari adjusts to the idea of having another kitty in the house, and while we see how quickly New Kitty can learn to use a litter box. also, i've been meaning to clean out my room for years (carless_sam can attest to the layers of detritus that have been gathering in here -- he even offered to conduct a proper archeological dig!). it wasn't so bad until I got to the REALLY old layers in the corner -- so. much. crap. And the quote in the Lunar Living newsletter for this past week's full moon was "Imagine having to carry everything you own." But I actually don't really feel I "own" any of this stuff. It's just sitting here in my house for some reason...
