Swimming isn't really an option. Biking I think has helped but the season for me is ending soon regardless. Hiking I like, and over varied terrain is actually a good brain workout too, but it's like pulling teeth trying to get anyone to hike with me, so I've given up.
Thank you for the offer, but I loathe trainers, the angle is too steep forward for me, puts too much strain on my arms, and the rigidity freaks me out.
But for me the bike is still the best way, but it's really important to keeep the intensity up as well as duration.
Running aggravates my knees.
Someone also suggested to me that doing a lot of hiking was very good, but to do it over varied terrain for the best benefit.
