Out of odd happenstance, the show All That was revived in my memory. I had completely forgotten about it until recently, my kick on a capella music was revived and I had been youtubing groups and songs. Divine, the all female group at Oregon State, had performed a rendition of the All That opening theme. It turns out I still love that theme...it might be my favorite opening theme to a show ever. The music (by TLC) I find oddly catchy, but then I also love the visuals for some reason. It strikes me as simple and low key--the abrupt cut to Katrina dropping a paper to reveal the word "OH" along with the music seems like the absolute perfect thing they could show at that moment. The scenes of Kenan and Kel playing wall ball are powerfully nostalgic (partially the lighting, partially because I played wall ball a lot in elementary school). And then there's a nostalgic fondness for the season 1 actors (because that's when I watched the show). Watching a couple of the episodes now...I really don't find it funny. But there's still this strong sense of nostalgia because as a kid, I remembered that I loved the show very much.
I'm 22 for a moment
Dying for just another moment
edit: I also love the diversity of the cast. A mix of races, body types...not all of them were drop dead attractive, but they all had some sort of appeal to them.
