QUESTION FOR PEOPLE AT SCHOOLS OTHER THAN GEORGIA STATE:

how often to you get fucked over by the various offices at your school? often? never?

because i'm so angry right now i'm just about ready to give a big FUCK YOU to georgia state and move my ass out of here.

i paid almost 150 bucks to auxiliary services on fucking tuesday so that i could park at my apartment building for the next month and a half. today, saturday, i was fucking delighted to learn that my permit had been deactivated for "nonpayment of fees." i was further delighted when i remembered auxiliary services is closed all weekend. i was quite certainly fucking SUPER-DELIGHTED, then, when i was stranded in the parking deck for 20 minutes before someone was nice enough to let me borrow their pass and park "illegally" in my own parking deck.

i'm pleasantly reminded now of the time i paid a little visit to auxiliary services right before winter break. at the beginning of that semester, i'd paid off all my parking debts and then given them an extra 200-some dollars to have parking through the semester. i gave them a check for $800. when i went back, they told me i somehow owed them $200. they said "we see that you paid us 800 dollars, but WE DON'T KNOW what it was for. so you owe us for the past semester." i had to wait for 45 minutes before the head honcho of auxiliary services got back from her lunch break and fixed everything.

i know shit happens, but does it happen this often at other schools???

georgia state is trying so desperately to move toward semi-respectability and taking lots of action to make it a more traditionally appealling college, yet so many currently existing components of this damn university cannot get their fucking act together. like who the hell thought it would be a nice idea to kick all non-freshmen out of the village next year except for those who can fit into athina, ONE of the 4 buildings? some might say that's not too unreasonable, but it IS unreasonable. current village residents have been paying out the ass to live there (not even ON CAMPUS) and now, with very little advance notice, there will barely be room next year to accomodate 1/4 of them next year?

gsu is just so fucking excited to pretend that they offer the "traditional" freshmen experience that they've completely fucked over many of the loyal students who were tolerant enough to pay for village housing for the past couple years. "thanks for giving us money and contributing to the shitty sense of community we have here at georgia state- now go away so we make make the freshman think we're better than we are."

sometimes i feel pretty sure that the scholarship is absolutely the ONLY reason i am still here. sometimes i don't mind things, but sometimes all this annoying shit happens at once and all i can say, for the hundredth time, is WHAT THE FUUUUUUCK.

in other news, lol. ::calming... down::

brian and i are going to kellie's mom's wedding reception tonight, which should be plenty of fun, and then heading to athens to celebrate laura's birthday and visit some folks. i actually just realized i have work at 10 tomorrow morning but i'm gonna try to fix that right now. we'll see.

also, i got voted to the phi mu executive council. i'm the scholarship "officer." i'm pretty excited about it- i have some good ideas. i dont know how well they'll go over though. it'll really depend on whether anyone is interested in being well-rounded and studious in the sorority. some of the girls are definitely all about that, but i know many arent. hmmm we'll see.

i'm gonna go take care of some things now. have a great saturday:-*
