only once a year can my livejournal entry date (sans the year)match up with the real date. maybe someday i'll get a new account and fix that haha. ay yay yay...

i'm the first one awake at my cousin richie's right now. cousin laura and jessie and i had a little cousins sleepover and it was fun. i saw "the boondock saints" finally, against my will of course. i almost never willingly watch a new movie, but once someone forces me i usually enjoy myself. haha what a weirdo. anyway i liked it plus i'm probably 100x cooler in brian's book now because he loves that movie.

speaking of brian....

BRIAN EPSTEIN GAVE ME THE MOST BEAUTIFUL RING I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE FOR CHRISTMAS <3 <3 <3 seriously you need to see it, it's absolutely gorgeous. it's white gold with lots of tiny diamonds and texturing that make it look sorta antique in the most gorgeous way imaginable. it's so so so perfect for me ahhhhh. he gave it to me on christmas eve and i ended up being unable to sleep all night because i was so excited about it. i kept waking up and looking at it reflecting the light from outside my window. it is SO sparkly (how the heck do you spell that? e? no e?) and it's my favorite gift of all time. i think he liked my gifts to him a lot too, but nothing can compare to the ring:)

...so, ladies-- it pays to date brian epstein. too bad though about him liking me more than you. roast!

and since i'm a self-centered, materialistic little pudge, let me go ahead and say that christmas was extremely good to me this year gift-wise. i got a sony "bean" which, in my opinion, is the best little contraption ever because it's awesome and cute as hell and not ridiculously expensive. i'm so glad i got that instead of an iPod (because it makes me a nonconformist, see?). that was like the "big gift" for us this year-- jess and i got pink and chris got black. i've already put a bunch of my cds on there for this buffalo trip. i love that thing. i also got perfume (score!!!), a wacky-ass bag for my school books, the prettiest target sweater EVER (i asked for it for weeks, it's so pretty! hell yeah to target!), a brown version of my faux chucks that i wear 24 hours a day at school (hell yea AGAIN to target!!), a new hair straightener, some other stuff...

...and oh yeah A MAGIC BULLET!! the awesome little blender thingy from that infomercial you see every darn day!!! i was so excited when i opened it, i made myself an omelet with it christmas morning in a british accent to demonstrate it to my sister. it was a pretty good omelet but the M.B. kind of chopped my ham into powdered-ham. i dont know how awesome that is. i might need to read some directions.

aside from the gifts and family time, though, christmas was a little bit disappointing this year. each year it seems another one of our traditions goes down the drain just because we're too lazy to get into it. i figure that's ok though because i'll revive them all someday when i have my own family.

i'm also kinda confused about what religious deonomination i technically fall under right now, so i really missed the strength of faith that i normally embrace around christmas-- because believe it or not, cynics, a lot of people care about the religious core of the season!! i still do, a lot, but its kinda sad to be questioning some of the things i believed in so strongly just a year ago. it's not at all that i'm questioning the existence of god or that jesus was his son; it's more about the rules we're supposed to follow and the "man with a beard in the sky" conception of god and the specifics of different organized religions that i'm confused about. hmmmmm too personal for an lj? yes.

i hope everyone else who celebrates it had a really great christmas, and that all you wonderful jews are enjoying the festival of lights to the fullest. this is a great time of year so best of happiness to ya!
