So everybody knows about the Terri Schiavo case, and everybody is probably sick of hearing about it. I will say I haven't really been following it closely, but I've heard enough to keep up with what is going one.
Her parents want her alive, her husband wants to let her go. Yes, she is severely brain damaged, but her parents are willing to care for her. But what is really upsetting me right now is the removal of her feeding tube. They are starving this woman to death. Is that right and just and fair to do to any human being, brain damaged or not? She can still feel, she is still responding, she is still a LIVING being with a soul, and they are let her die slowly and painfully by starving. They arrested a 10 year old boy and 13 year old twins for trying to bring this woman water.
Doctors have said she would probably die within a week or two of the feeding tube being removed, which was done March 18 after a judge sided with her husband's argument that she would not want to be kept alive artificially. Dehydration has taken its toll on the 41-year-old woman, producing flaky skin, dry tongue and lips, and sunken eyes, according to attorneys and friends of the Schindlers.
Who are we to say who lives and who dies?
Something is very wrong here.
