I was insanely happy to see you'd posted some new fic and even happier now that I've read it! Writing for me is like wringing blood from a stone so I have enormous respect for you and your epic House fics. GOS is my all time favourite Houseverse. I loved the G-string Jack-o-Lantern, House/Rachel, House/Cuddy and well everything really :-).

OH! This was AMAZING. I'm a big fan of The Gift of Screws and your characterizations of these 3 amazing characters. It was really great to read a prequel to that--definitely sheds light on where everyone stands.

I love House and Rachel's reluctant friendship. So good!

And your House and Cuddy are always sexy as hell together and deliciously complicated.

Thnx for the Huddy fix @lieueitak. You get inside H's head so well, it's scary. So much better than the mess in the so-called canon.

Thank you! I definitely try to get inside House's head and write that character as most of us picture him. So it's nice to hear I might have done that somewhat decently. :)

Most of the places I've lived have a policy that, if your porch lights are off, you're not interested in trick-or-treaters. If things had been normal, Cuddy or Marina would have taken Rachel out, and House would have been left at home. And the chances of him wanting to hand out candy are slim to none, so they would have never planned on having kids come to the door.

Your other option is that all the parents in the neighborhood knew House lived in that home and didn't want to go anywhere near him. :P
