I really enjoyed this. I loved that even after years of dating, they still get angry/upset at each other, still frustrate each other, and still play games with each other. I think you captured their personalities quite well. Hopefully there will be plenty more of this coming soon!

seeing this reminded me that i get to read EOC - which i started today as well. i really do love your grasp of house & cuddy as characters. you do a superb job of writing them and their thoughts and their actions; the whole thing is just so natural and real (and i hate say it: organic). i have totally been house in this piece - pick a fight and then try to cuddle my way into sex. he had much better luck than i ever have. i like what you are doing with the house/rachel relationship. it's a treatment that we don't see a lot, but i like how it works here. i certainly look forward to the missteps and highs that this weekend surely hold.

Thank you so much. I really do try to capture the characters as they are and manipulate them only in ways that makes sense, so it's nice to know that I might have succeeded here.

As far as cuddling his way into sex - of course, House is going to have good luck when it comes to Cuddy. If she can't even kick Lucas out of her bed, who will she say no to? ;-)

Very interesting first chapter. I'll second the 'in-character and not too mushy' from above. I like the idea that even in a long-term relationship, there's alot unsaid and not worked out between them. They're still who they've always been, eventhough they may have taken baby steps toward something else over the years.

Interesting, I like the portrayal of "messed up couple" and House not really wanting Rachel on his life, so it was really good to read, also liked the set up for further chapters which I look forward to read.
