gyms are weird

I spend a lot of time at the gym. I try to make it everyday: something feels curiously wrong with me if I haven't managed to drag my reluctant ass onto an elliptical machine on a daily basis. One of the reasons I switched gyms is because the new location has a much wider variety of ages and body types. (That, and my car got broken into at the other one.)

Our resident Anorexia Girl has apparently started eating, and looks really good these days.

On the downside, though, I had to quit the aerobics classes because the music was Just. So. BAD. Running + headphones = much better.

I can't do the gym thing. I don't know why, but going to someplace to exercise has always seemed weird to me. Exercise is something that happens because you have work to do or someplace to go. Granted I keep think I should start a routine of some sort, but it'll probably have to be some sort of sport. I don't really want muscles, except for a six pack.

Here's the weird thing. I eat lots of disgustingly fatty foods, yet I'm like a reed. It's because I have an insane metabolism. Here's how you determine those with insane metabolisms. We seem to vibrate while sitting in chairs because parts of our body (in my case my legs and feet) never stop moving. Last night I couldn't sleep and I figured out the reason later when I realized I had been shaking my foot for 30 minutes.

Hah, I'm the exact same way. Except I define it as "incredibly annoyingly twitchy." I go through about one and a half packs of Trident a day because chewing gum keeps me from going insane. (This is why I never ever let myself smoke cigarettes.)
