Demo CD in the Works

With the help of pianist and coach Elizabeth Moore (Seattle Opera, VocalArts Northwest) and the studio of Kent Harrison of Sammamish, Washington, I've just completed part of something that I've been wanting to do for a long time now, and that is to create a demo CD of various pieces. I want to be able to send this to directors of various music organizations to get my voice "out there". Further, my good friend Tomo wants to start promoting my voice in and around the Tokyo area, so I'll be sending my material to Japan for some potential concerts.

These pieces are (so far):
  • Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion, G.F. Handel (Messiah)
  • Ombra mai fu, G.F. Handel (Serse)
  • If with all your hearts, F. Mendelssohn (Elijah)
  • Trock'ne Blumen, F. Schubert
  • Was ist Sylvia, F. Schubert
  • Der Tod, das ist die kühle Nacht, J. Brahms
I'll be putting clips of these on the website, as well as selecting a few to put on the demo CD. Future songs I'm planning on recording are:
  • Bist du bei mir, J.S. Bach
  • Geduld, geduld, J.S. Bach (St. Matthew Passion)
  • Il mio tesoro, W.A. Mozart (Don Giovanni)
  • In quegli anni, W.A Mozart (Le nozze di Figaro)
  • Auf dem Wasser zu singen, F. Schubert
Songs I'm still tossing around:
  • Ach, so fromm, F. Flotow (Martha; though I have lots of German selections already)
  • May It Be, Enya (Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring; I've always wanted to sing in Elvish!)
  • Into the West, H. Shore, F. Walsh, and A. Lennox (Lord of the Rings: Return of the King; I need to transpose it for my voice range)
I will pick up the CD of the currently-recorded selections on Monday, likely. I don't have time this week due to all of my Holy Week music services and the Pacific Northwest Ballet's performances of Carmina Burana.
