It's been a few days and I still can't believe that Rome is no more. Even the imminent return of Entourage and Sopranos haven't eased the sadness.
Okay. So the release of the HP Book 7 cover art helped. But only a little bit.
On the real, I don't know if there can be another show as consistently ass kicking as Rome was. Certainly not The Tudors, though I'm willing to give it a shot. Carnivale couldn't pull it off either, as much as it still pains me to admit. Sure, Rome had it's flaws...I never quite adjusted to the recasting of Octavian, and they cheaped out on the battle scenes right up to the end, but the performances (even from dumb old New Octavian) are unbeatable.
Besides, you can just watch 300 for the good fight scenes. Hard to say which one had the better eye candy, though.
