the biggest night in town

I got tagged!

1. Make a list of 5 things you can see without getting up:
This awesome WALL-E lenticular lamp, a tiny Homer Simpson mug with earplugs in it, an empty Pomegranate 7Up can, a plastic drawer cart I'm trying to organize all my shit into, a Deathly Hallows poster.

2. How do you style your hair?
If I may quote a recent tweet of mine, "Nothing is so liberating as a major haircut. It's a little more "Ina Garten" than "Catherine Zeta in Chicago", but then, so am I."

3. What are you wearing now?
A pair of jeans that have gotten to be way too big, and this fucking awesome Jessica Rabbit shirt I got at Disneyland that I love despite going against my rule against wearing hotter women emblazoned on my torso.

4. What's your occupation?
cs, bb

5. Do you nap a lot?
yeah

6. Who was the last person you hugged?
my moms

7. What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
Well, any time that LOST is airing, that's a big one. Food porn. Disneyland. Taking pictures. Shia. Graphic novels.

8. What was the last thing you ate today?
Just finished some rice pudding and flan.

9. Post a video you enjoy watching:

Okay, I'm going to post a bunch, but this has got to be my favorite. I can't wait until his reality show starts:

10. What websites do you always visit when you go online?
The X-Entertaiment Blog, LiveJournal, twitter, flickr.

11. What was the last thing you bought?
Sushi! Some concoction called a "crunch roll", California rolls, rainbow roll and some shrimp tempura.

12. What are you listening to right now?
The Waiterbot Cloverfield review I linked above, plus Katt Williams American Hustle on the TV.

13. What do you think about before you go to bed at night?
Am I supposed to say like world peace, or the boogeyman or something? Sex, mostly. Don't start dreading work until morning.

14. What is your favourite food?
Strawberries.

15. Do you collect anything?
Toys. Tinkerbell stuff. Harry Potter alternate editions. Shot glasses. Autographs. DVDs. Movie stubs.

16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
I would love if I could still play the piano. I'll probably never pick up a bass clarinet again, but then I was never all that good.

17. How are you?
Really behind schedule, but generally okay. Thanks for asking!

18. What's something you'd like to say to someone right now?
"Why yes, I've finished the application and all the financial aid paperwork!"

19. Say something about the person who tagged you:
ilovejunk was the first person to show me that there are people out there who remember the stupid wonderfulness of the BSC :)

Not tagging anybody, but steal at will!

Let's talk Oscar outfits! First, let's get the bad out of the way:

Now, the dress is beautiful, and she's got the figure for it. But someone needs to tell this girl she's not nominated for an award so maybe she shouldn't be dressed as the ultimate sparkle princess. I know she's just a kid, but it's embarrassing.

Now for some of the good. It's hard to find any pictures yet, so forgive the so-so quality:

I love Tilda Swinton's style. You never know what she's going to wear but it's always going to be interesting.

Just wanted to point out that Mickey Rourke wore a necklace dedicated to his recently departed chihuahua, Loki <3333 I actually like the look Mickey's been rocking lately, but the hair's gotta go.

(Sorry if this is coming out huge, I don't know why!) Had trouble finding any good pictures of Angelina's dress, but it was up to her typical standard. There's always a picture of her and Brad all snugglekins like that from every red carpet, which amuses me.

Natalie Portman in yet another drapey Grecian number. Lovely, but let's mix it up once in awhile, Nat!

My favorite of the night, Penelope Cruz's dress. As for the other Best Actress winner, Kate Winslet's dress was...interesting. I haven't decided quite how I feel about it yet. Penelope's dress, though, which was a 60 year old vintage piece, had me at hello (Oscar winner reference!). Tasteful jewelry, perfect makeup, and the detailing on that bodice! Everything was perfect. Somebody had a good feeling about winning 8D
