Allez cuisine!
I was trying to remember what I was doing with a fruitcake in the middle of the summer, then I remembered it was a regular cake, that my mom stuck fruit in. Subtle difference.
Those cookie are from the Italian grocery, super yummy.
Looking at it now, this seems like a heck of a lot of food. Lately I'd probably only pack this much if it was a school night and I saved some for after work.
Kyaraben (or charaben) bentos are those crazy Japanese lunches
that look like pokiemans and stuff. I've neither the time nor the inclination, but I like to inject a bit of the idea in my own abstracted way. Hence the breakfast that lets you spend the morning asking "why so serious?" while harboring an irrational fear of pencils.
Leftovers from the same Italian spot that I get the frequently-seen pesto tortellini from :9
This is what a lunch scraped together from whatever's around looks like, aka a typical end of the week lunch.
Gee whiz do I miss fresh fruit already.
On the left are some wacky new variant of Club crackers called Puffs. They're good.
More Puffs Club, or Club Puffs, or whatever you wanna call em. A small editorial note about these pictures, they represent my transition to the new camera, which explains the better focus and experiments/problems with lighting. Slowly but steadily I think the photography is improving ever so slightly.
SPECIAL BONUS SANGRIA SECTION!!!
So I've never made the stuff before, and I misjudged the fruit/wine ratio. I should have had at least two bottles of wine for how much fruit I had. Even so the end results were pretty great, and I am not even a wine drinker. I'd definitely make it again for a party or picnic.
Like I said, way too much fruit. No biggie.
