Happy birthday to
schnibbles and
psychogryphon, one day late!
We never did get that "burnt sugar smell" figured out in the office. We did learn that the compressor wasn't working, so it had to be replaced. Whether that had any connection with the smell, I do not know. In what I believe to be a wholly unrelated incident, we noticed a different kind of smell on Monday, one that was both strong and suble at the same time, which I know doesn't make sense in words. We soon agreed it was probably a dead rodent and I was put on the case. Also, the smell was notably stronger in my boss' office, so we figured the source was probably within. I had the lucky chore of examining all floor areas for a clue. Well, I found a big clue in the form of a small dead mouse. I used a box to push him into a paper bag and trotted him outside to decay in peace - our peace.
An air deodorizer helped little, but thankfully the smell of death lingered only for a day and was mostly gone by Wednesday. Yesterday, I couldn't smell it at all, so all of you who were planning an office visit can now pencil that back in.
In other news, the Drive-in down in Castleton opened for the season last weekend.
ticklemerisi and I weren't able to make it down last Saturday, due to my attending M&M's Game Night down in Indy, but we're hoping to go tonight to see Spiderman 3. It's always fun and the food is yummy, albeit unhealthy.
My Aunt Ruth is in critical condition in the hospital following an uncommon contraction of a strain of Meningitis, accompanied by sepsis. Mom and my Aunt Marilyn traveled to the hospital yesterday to see her and while she had been nearly 100% unresponsive to stimuli since her arrival on Tuesday, she was able to open her eyes and recognize her sisters who were there yesterday. The whole family has been in prayer for her and you are welcome to do the same.
