It's been about five weeks since the police issued a warrant for Jeremiah's arrest. This week, I received an e-mail from my parents that read simply, "JEREMIAH IS IN JAIL." I was extremely disappointed by how long it took them to arrest him, but at least it has happened. Soon we'll find out if he'll actually go to prison.
...Not that I even care that much anymore. I feel incredibly distanced from what is going on in my hometown. It's not such a bad thing, though.
Sara finally had surgery this past week to remove the cancerous cells on her cervix. I'm assuming that went well, but, you know: distance.
I think that she and Mattie are going away for the weekend, since it obviously has been a rough week.
Anyway, Leon and I are going to fly out to San Francisco for part of spring break. He still has to hear from MIT (and most of the safety schools), but it's looking more likely that Berkeley is the school. I'm awfully excited about the idea of living in California, which is quite surprising. I never fancied myself a West Coast girl, but maybe I am. Or maybe I can be--at least for a few years.
I feel really apathetic about classes right now, and I'd like to think that I will focus more once spring break is over. More than likely, it'll just make me hunger even more for the real world.
Two weeks until spring break.
Two months until I graduate.
How exciting, really.
